all that glitters is...

gold - (a nod to the namesake)

give me anything brass or anything gold and i'm all over it.

i'm a firm believer that every room should have some type of gilded accent.
in big or small doses it works every time.

let's take a theoretical house tour of my dream gilded abode...

first up - the entryway.
welcome. lovely to have you.
don't you feel immediately welcomed by this sunny space?
between the intricate chevron flooring,
hermes orange arm chairs (to mirror the front door obv),
and gold sea urchin fixture, this entry is all kinds of good

would you like a cocktail to accompany you for the remainder of the tour?
sure you do.

- TIME OUT -
(zack morris style)

this is my actual sedgewick bar cart from Society Social which i adore!

- TIME IN -

now onto one of my favorite spaces - the dining room

sure we may not use it everyday, but it's the perfect excuse to amp up a dwelling with some killer details and major drama
it's sexy, malachite masculine, and glam all at the same time
some lit candles combined with that gold-painted ceiling will make for an awfully cozy dinner party

oh and we'll be dining with the help of these lovelies

where's the powder room you ask?  oh you'll find it.  you literally can't miss it
(in a great way)

now follow me on upstairs

the master bedroom - "this is where the magic happens"
(why did they always say that on Cribs?)

the mix of textures here is out of control awesome. and still in a perfectly traditional way.
i mean that 4 post bed. cmon you know you want to jump in

oh and here's the master bath. my dear friend jonathan adler helped with this beauty

let's retreat to the living room for a night cap
please don't put your feet on the coffee table. it's tortoise can't you tell?

but do sit back and relax while you gaze out of the picture window
i would say let's go for a dip in the greek key lap pool
but looks like the stop at the bar cart/night cap may have been a bad idea

i believe you should stay the night - don't worry, the guest bed and bath are all ready for you

sleep tight. but when you look in this the next morning...

...you'll probably see this
(we all know what happens when you fall asleep first at a party)
